🌼 Quick Look: Heal & Glow.
💟 Benefits: The antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties in green tea may make it an effective treatment for acne and oily skin. Green tea contains high concentrations of a group of polyphenol antioxidants called catechins. Most people with acne have too much sebum, or natural body oils, in their pores and not enough antioxidants.
Green Tea is packed with antioxidants that help the body break down chemicals and waste products that can damage healthy cells. Green tea may help clear out some of the debris and waste that has built up in open acne sores.

💜 According to research , the polyphenols in green tea, when applied to the skin, help reduce sebum secretion, which can lead to acne. A small 2005 study of 80 women showed an improvement of skin elasticity in participants treated with a combination regimen of topical and oral green tea.

Green Tea Paste for Blackheads
Yields: Enough paste for one application Prep time: 5 minutes Cost: $5 - $10 CAD
Ingredients:
2 green tea bags (or 1-2 teaspoons of loose leaf green tea)
1-2 tablespoons hot water (not boiling)
1/2 teaspoon sunflower oil (or other non-comedogenic oil like jojoba or grapeseed)
Equipment:
Small bowl
Spoon or small spatula
Instructions:
Steep the Green Tea:
Place the green tea bags or loose leaf tea in the small bowl.
Pour the hot water over the tea and let it steep for 3-5 minutes, allowing the tea to become strong.
Create the Paste:
If using tea bags, remove them and carefully squeeze out any excess liquid into the bowl. If using loose leaf tea, strain the tea, keeping the liquid.
Using a spoon or spatula, mash the tea leaves (from the bags or the steeped loose leaf) into a paste. Add a little more hot water if needed to achieve a smooth, spreadable consistency.
Add the Oil:
Stir in the sunflower oil (or your chosen non-comedogenic oil) into the green tea paste. This will help hydrate the skin and make the paste easier to apply.
Apply the Mask:
Apply the green tea paste evenly to the areas of your face affected by blackheads.
Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes.
Rinse and Moisturize:
Rinse the mask off thoroughly with lukewarm water.
Pat your skin dry with a clean towel.
Follow with your regular moisturizer.
